Happy 3rd birthday, Dio!
The tradition of getting Dio a ridiculous birthday treat continues. This year he got what looked like a doggie s’more: two square shaped dog cookies covered in yogurt icing, stuffed with yogurt cream, and topped with a dog bone shaped treat that was… what else… dipped in yogurt. That monstrosity was his dinner along with what seemed like an entire bag of treats the lady at this specific store handed him. Please don’t barf on my bed tonight puppy. <3

Mass photo update since it’s been a while. Dio on top of a mountain with his friend Max. Dio and Diego passed out after playing all day. Dio at the dog beach.

We went to Cowles Mountain this afternoon! Dio’s becoming stronger and stronger. He’s doing these hikes so easily now. Bud still has energy after he’s done! I love it!

We went to Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. There is a little waterfall in the middle that was a nice midway point. Really easy hike but it was around ten miles long after we added in all the breakaways. Pup was covered in mud by the end of it. :)

Dio made it up Mt. Woodson. We started our hike around 7am so it was nice and cool. I don’t know how people do these hikes in the heat… or how they bring their poor pups with them when it’s hot out. Dio made it up and down totally fine but I would never bring him if it was any warmer. It can’t be good for him or his lil paws.
These photos were taken from Potato Chip Rock. He totally scaled a boulder that was at least 3-1/2 ft taller than him. I have no idea how he did it. He saw me on top and went out of his way to come up too. It scared the crap out of me because I thought he scraped his paws. He was totally fine! I’m still in shock he made it up. Next time I’m going to have my friends hold on to him and hand him to me when I’m on top of anything that high up. Don’t want his lil paws getting hurt. Considering this hike was over 7 miles long round trip… that is one strong dog! Don’t worry, we took TONS of water, snacks, and breaks. He slept for a few hours when we got home then brought his toy over to play fetch. He can handle it. :)

I really need to sit the pup down and explain that he can not crawl under the door. No matter how much he tries. Thanks for the mud stains on the carpet though! Stinkin puppy.

Got pup a Halloween toy. Also, he has been creeping me the hell out lately. I keep finding him staring at me for long periods of time for no reason. I caught him staring at me from the backyard the other day. He stayed like that for a good ten min. He doesn’t usually like to be in the sun either! Creepy dog!

Dio was at the Walk for Animals event with the Humane Society. He was entered in a contest where they time how quickly he can find the treats. Dio was so well trained that he kept looking up to seek our blessing every time he found one. He would only eat them when we said it was ok. With that said, he was the slowest dog they recorded by over a minute! haha Best dog ever.

Dio sleeps against my back. When I woke up this morning, I just flipped the blanket off of me and trapped him on the bed. He fell back asleep and started snoring.
